Collaboration PLC:

  • Intentional Instruction
    • Goals - CCSS/F&P
      • Diagnose the Gap (F&P, MAP) - specific
        • Plan Instruction: focused, targeted, ALIGNED

Notes:
  1. Intervention should NOT be a life sentence.
  2. Intervention teachers should be the best in the building
  3. The program:
    1. 75% of the time spent reading/doing math
    2. meaningful writing, thinking
    3. FA ongoing --> Progress Monitoring
    4. Individualized
    5. Intensive and targeted
  4. Roles of the Classroom Teacher:
    1. elevated
    2. intensified - FA/PM
    3. Differentiated, high-quality instruction
      1. Workshop
      2. Whole Class:
        1. IRA
        2. Shared reads/Close reads and Shared writing/mentor texts
        3. Theme based books / Text Ladders
        4. Text sets to build PK and give access
      3. Small group:
        1. Guided reading and writing
        2. Conferring
        3. Word study (ml, study, reading, discuss, review, FA)
        4. Poetry - ongoing use
        5. ML - following a ML 
    4. Highlight learning from intervention
  5. Collaboration:  Class to class folder and communication
    1. Ongoing assignment - post collaboration conversations on TC, observe and post
  6. Curriculum in Intervention is based on CCSS and aligned to the classroom
  7. Students know the goal and monitor it 
  8. PD:  Ongoing walk thoughs of classrooms and intervention classrooms
